Ryszard MYSZAK
( 1931-1998 )
Born in south-eastern Poland. At age 8, he and his mother along with his three older sisters, were deported to Northern Kazakhstan, where they suffered many deprivations, infestations, starvation and cold over a period of two years. At the age of 10, Ryszard lost both parents. His father Stanislaw died of typhoid fever after imprisonment in the USSR, and his mother Weronika died in Pahlevi, Iran, right after the family’s arrival from Russia by boat through the Caspian Sea with General Anders' army. Ryszard then moved through Iran, Lebanon, Palestine and Great Britain, completing his primary, secondary and university education.

He earned a degree in electrical engineering. In 1953 he emigrated to Canada from Britain, and was employed by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) where he worked for 35 years.

On assignment in Vancouver in 1960, Ryszard met and married Anna Runcewicz, a pharmacist. They had three sons, Stanislaw, Jan and Maciej.

While in England and also in Canada, Ryszard was very active in numerous social, church and professional organizations and was always willing to contribute and help those in need. In late life, he suffered a sudden, complete loss of vision.

He died in 2014, leaving in deep mourning his wife Anna, his three sons with their families, and his two surviving sisters, Stanisława in Toronto and Halina in Montreal, as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
His sister Danuta Binek is buried in grave no 63 [lot C1 644A].
